Who we are
Piran Surf is a surf shop based in Perranporth, Cornwall, trading since 1971. We sell surfboards, wetsuits, clothing and accessories both in store and through this website, and we hire equipment and run surf lessons.

What information we collect
When you place an order
To process and deliver your order we collect:
- Your name
- Billing and delivery address
- Email address
- Phone number, where provided
- Details of what you ordered
- Any notes you add to your order
We do not see or store your card details. Payments are processed securely by Square, and your card information goes directly to them. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with the last four digits of the card.
When you create an account
If you choose to create an account, we store your name, email address, an encrypted version of your password, any saved addresses, and your order history.
You can shop with us without creating an account.
When you sign up to our newsletter
We collect your email address. Our newsletters are sent using MailerLite, so your subscription details are stored on their systems.
When you contact us
If you email, call, or use a contact form on the site, we keep a record of that correspondence so we can help you and refer back to it if needed.
Automatically, when you browse
Like most websites, we collect limited technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and how you arrived at the site. This helps us keep the site secure and understand how it is being used.

Where your data is stored
Our website and its data are hosted in the United Kingdom.
Some of our suppliers, in particular Square, MailerLite and Google, may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, appropriate safeguards are in place as required by UK data protection law.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

- Correct anything that is inaccurate
- Erase your data, where we are not required to keep it
- Restrict how we use it

Marketing emails
We only send marketing emails to people who have asked to receive them. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us at any time to be removed.
Unsubscribing will not affect emails relating to an order you have placed, as we need to send those to fulfil your purchase.
